Bow Valley Trail 906 Unit 2B - Mountain Loft

Very nice place and a great base for exploring Banff and the surrounding national parks. Staying in Canmore only adds about 20 minutes of driving, so the location is very convenient. Just a heads up, it’s quite close to the train tracks, so you may hear trains passing by, including at night.

Listing claims didn't match reality. Noise: listed as "light to moderate, starting 8am Mon-Fri," but the railway noise was constant — day and night, every day of our stay — and seriously disrupted sleep. Earplugs from the host barely helped; if you need reliable sleep, this unit may be unusable for you. Parking: listing promises a "designated parking stall at the rear," but there was no such spot. We were sent to a first-come gravel lot, then overnight-only retail spots, then street parking once that filled — a recurring hassle, not a one-off. On the plus side, the apartment itself was comfortable and well-equipped (full kitchen, sofa bed, great mountain views), and the host team was responsive, quickly sending a replacement pan and body wash when asked. Given the nightly noise issue, think carefully before booking if sleep quality matters to you.

I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t have the WiFi working when I arrived and it took couple days to get it fixed and I ended up missing a very important meeting since I couldn’t connect with my computer. Is very frustrated to come home after a long day and then you don’t have access to TV or anything. You have to be staring in the walls. It is something very easy to get fixed, first they said the WiFi was connected and the problem was with my phone until I was about to check out and they finally got it fixed. They sent a very small amount of $ for refund but honestly for what I paid I was kind frustrated how they handled the situation. It’s very loud a night due the Train line. I was so happy to move to another place after 3 nights not sleeping well. I know that’s nothing they can do with the train but if you want to sleep well it’s not the right place to stay.
